Ed is a DSN (Dinosaur Shopping Network) host in the Dinosaurs episode "Earl, Don't Be a Hero." Assigned to The Captain Impressive Action Fun Hour, he finds the hero's lack of punctuality less than impressive. He exhorts viewers to "get in on the deal" and buy merchandise for seemingly low prices (and exorbitant shipping and handling).
When Earl Sinclair reveals himself and tries to reveal the truth about child-manipulating capitalism to the audience, a brief stand by image appears. Afterwards, Ed is now wearing the ill-fitting Captain Impressive suit, fighting high prices.
