Edward Bakst is an illustrator, photographer and animator who has been active since the 1970s, whose work over the years (often verging on the surreal) has included commercials and station IDs for such clients as Nickelodeon, MTV, The Smithsonian Institution and the BIC pen company. He contributed several inserts for Sesame Street which first aired during the show's seventh season in several animation styles, including stop motion and cel animation. He would also create animated segments for The Electric Company and 3-2-1 Contact, which were also produced by Sesame Workshop.
