Eleanor Butler Roosevelt (1888-1960) was an American philanthropist, clothing designer, and photographer. She worked extensively with the YMCA in France during WWI designing their uniforms and "working like a horse" in the canteen. While her husband, General Theodore Roosevelt Jr., was governor of Puerto Rico, she helped improve conditions for women in the country. Twenty-five of her photographic albums were donated to the Library of Congress in 1986 by her family. She was the daughter-in-law of US President Theodore Roosevelt.
