Ellen Pompeo (b. 1969) is an American actress best known for playing Meredith Grey on Grey's Anatomy. Other television credits include appearances on Law & Order, Friends, and Strangers with Candy (with Amy Sedaris).
Pompeo appeared with Elmo to present "healthy" as The Word of the Day for the 41st season of Sesame Street. Coincidentally, she was born on the same day the program first debuted.
