
Ellis Weiner is an author and writer whose work has been published in The New Yorker and The New York Times Magazine. He has been employed by National Lampoon as an editor and as a columnist for Spy Magazine. His work for television includes The Puzzle Place, Between the Lions, and ALF Tales, and he wrote a novelization of the George Lucas-produced film Howard the Duck.
In 1981, Weiner wrote the farcical behind-the-scenes tale, The Great Muppet Caper!: The Making of the Masterpiece. He contributed to Muppet Magazine in the 1980s, including the story, "A (Sort of) Christmas Carol" for the winter 1984 issue, and later went on to write for Bear in the Big Blue House.
