Guess what Elmo's thinking about today? | Elmo hears barking sounds coming from Drawer, Shade, and Door. Elmo then opens his door and is run over by half a dozen Muppet dogs (including Watson, a poodle, a dalmatian, a dachshund, and a collie). A film montage of dogs of all kinds follows. |

Dorothy's Question | Dorothy's fishbowl sports a small dog figurine, and Dorothy wants to know how you walk a dog. |

The Noodle Family | Mr. Noodle's brother Mr. Noodle pretends he has a dog, using a gag invisible dog leash that seems to have a mind of its own! |
![]() |
Kids and Baby | Kids show how they walk their dogs, while a baby instead has a stuffed dog toy. |
![]() |
Elmo's Question | Elmo counts seven animated ice-skating dogs (and one barking ice-skating seal). |
![]() |
Quiz | One of the Muppet dogs ask who can have a pet dog and who can't. Birthday cakes can't, but a dog can have a birthday party. A big red ball can't, but a dog can play with a ball. A firetruck can't, but a dog can ride on one. Barkley can't because he's a dog himself... but he can be Linda's pet dog. After the quiz, Mr. Noodle continues walking his pretend dog. |

Film | Elmo talks about the time his friend Casey got a new puppy named Buddy, and how she helped take care of it. |

TV Cartoon | TV wants to be scratched on its tummy like a dog before Elmo and a couple dogs tune in to The Dog Channel. The Lecture Lady talks to a dog named Sigmund about his emotions via a therapy session. She isn't sure what Sigmund is feeling until he shows that he feels like playing basketball. Coming up next: Woof or Consequences with Bob Barker, followed by Hamlet ("Starring a Grrrrreat Dane!"). |

Interview | Mr. Noodle is still walking his pretend dog when Elmo decides to learn more by talking to the Muppet dogs. They demonstrate how they have a good sense of smell, wag their tails when happy, and have excellent hearing before running off (they heard a whistle). William Wegman's dogs then appear at the door to show Elmo what kinds of jobs dogs can have. One is dressed as a police dog and another appears in a circus costume, which sparks Dorothy's imagination. |

Tickle Me Land | William Wegman narrates as Dorothy imagines Elmo as a dog, first performing in a circus (unable to jump completely through a hoop), herding a group of sheep (who come to attention when Elmo fails to get them to listen), and a sled dog pulling Elmo. |

Home Video | Elmo calls and whistles for TV to come over to him like a dog, which it does. TV then turns on to present Elmo's movie - Telly Pretends to Be a Dog. |

The Dog Song | Elmo sings the "Dog Song" with the dogs. |
Notes[]
- Additional performers include John Tartaglia (as grey dog #1), Joey Mazzarino (as brown and black dog and sheep), Jim Martin, and Matt Vogel (as sheep).
- Footage from Elmo's World: Food and "Washin' the Dog" is used during the opening montage.
- When the police dog appears, an arrangement of the theme from Dragnet is heard. This music was changed when the segment was released on Babies, Dogs & More! and Pets!, but was retained on All About Animals.
