Elmo Visits the Firehouse originally aired as a Season 33 episode of Sesame Street. The video release includes Elmo's World: Firefighters, which wouldn't air on television until Season 34.
The street scenes from the episode with real firefighters from the New York City Fire Department are included, as well as an additional segment added for the home video release (listed below). The firefighters credited on this release are Captain Bill Walsh, Firefighter Richard Gleason, Firefighter Susan Blake, Battalion Chief Brian Dixon, Firefighter Steven Bascelli, Firefighter Scott Paskewitz, Lieutenant Jeffrey Sims, and Firefighter John Wilson.
