Empire is a FOX TV drama focusing on a family-owned hip hop record company and the clashes for control and position by the different parties, especially between founder Luscious Lyon and his on-and-off wife Cookie Lyon.

- On the April 11, 2015 episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by Empire regular Taraji P. Henson, Henson reprised her role as Cookie Lyon on a faux Sesame Street episode, on the usual street set and interacting with the actual Muppets (including Cookie Monster, who is initially bewildered when the announcer seems to be referring to him but actually to Cookie Lyon).
