	SCENE 1	Gordon notices Oscar acting grouchier than usual. Susan, Bob and Mr. Hooper recall that Oscar asked for a suitcase, asked Bob for directions to the bus depot, and bought a "for rent" sign. They put the clues together and conclude that Oscar is moving away.

	SCENE 3	At the farewell party, a banner is put up which reads "Goodbye, old friend". Susan presents a cake with sardine frosting, and the letter O formed in pickles. They also give him a dirty rag, a jar of mud and a worn-out broom as going-away presents. Oscar decides to stay on Sesame Street, because in a cardboard box on Gunk Alley, there's nothing to complain about — and grouches love complaining.

	Muppets / Cast	"Surprise!": A band of Anything Muppet hippies sing about the good and bad parts of surprises, and how people respond to them. Various characters appear in cutaways demonstrating surprises, including: Oscar surprising Susan with a snake in a can; Herbert Birdsfoot in a room surprised by Roosevelt Franklin, Roosevelt Franklin's Mother, Herry, Cookie Monster, Prairie Dawn, and Grover; and Herry sneaking up on Bert. After the many clips of various surprises, the back-up singers eventually give the lead singer their own surprise for him at the end of the song.
