SCENE 2 Luis tries to get to Hooper's Store to place a phone call, but runs into Sam the Robot on the way. Sam claims he has a telephone apparatus. Luis dials the number and Sam freaks out, exhausting a blast of smoke and spilling spare change; he claims that Luis has dialed the wrong number. Luis insists it was right, but tries again anyway, eliciting the same result. Luis, annoyed by Sam's arrogance, cools down and realizes something - he was going to call his brother about borrowing five bucks, but with all the change Sam has spilled, he won't need to.
