She leaves as Big Bird looks around, and encounters Mr. Snuffleupagus who wants to join in the game. He offers his balloon, but Big Bird points out that it doesnโ€™t rhyme with โ€œman.โ€ Big Bird takes the balloon as Snuffy leaves to look for a rhyme in his cave when Susan comes back. Big Bird tries to tell her about Snuffy's mistake, but she assumes that Big Bird is blaming his rhyming mistake on his โ€œimaginary friend.โ€

Big Bird goes to fetch Susan so he can show her the can, while Snuffy decides to go back home and pretend to be the Moon. Susan wonders where Big Bird got the can, still denying the existence of the Snuffleupagus. Frustrated by Susan's skepticism, Big Bird exclaims that the can was really filled with potato salad and dropped off by fourteen Pickle-People, who sent it from their flying saucer and flew away while whistling โ€œThe Eyes of Texas are Upon You.โ€ Susan thinks that's a more believable answer than the Snuffleupagus, and Big Bird slowly bangs his head upon the trash can in dissappointment.
