	SCENE 3	Oscar receives a letter from the Disagreeable Order of Grouches (D.O.G.), notifying him that he's won the Grouch of the Year Award. He observes the bad day that David is having, which makes him very happy. When the Grouch judge overhears Oscar saying that he has a glow in his heart, a smile on his lips and a good warm feeling inside, he assumes Oscar isn't the Grouch he was looking for, and looks elsewhere.

	SCENE 4	The Grouch judge encounters David in Hooper's Store, thinking him to be the Grouch of the Year Award recipient. He offers David a year's supply of dirty socks, then a stack of torn newspapers, angering David even further. Maria giggles at the situation, and soon, so does David. The Grouch judge is confused, until Oscar sets him straight by going off on a tirade about David, the judge, and the contest. The judge, admitting his mistake, gives Oscar the award.
