SCENE 1 | Big Bird wakes up in the early morning and greets the viewer. He walks out into the street, observing how nobody else has gotten up yet, but then notices smoke coming from Hooper's Store. He assumes Mr. Hooper must be cooking something, but then sees Mr. Hooper isn't there. He notices smoke is coming from the basement as well, and realizes there must be a fire. He calls out for help, then Gordon quickly phones the fire department, while Bob evacuates from his apartment above. Big Bird then attempts to blow the smoke away, as Susan goes to call Mr. Hooper. The firemen arrive and bust down the door, causing Big Bird to panic and think they're breaking in. As the men go to extinguish the fire, the adults explain the process to Big Bird. | |
