He thinks people like David more than himself, and wonders how it would be if he looked like David. In his imagination, he has the same body as David, but retains his own voice – and his love for birdseed, only he finds that he can't eat it with his teeth. He also wants to join Gordon and the kids for basketball, but they don't believe he's Big Bird because he looks like David.
