SCENE 1 Mr. Hooper gives David a hat for a gift. David thinks the hat is out of style for him, but doesn’t tell Mr. Hooper. He takes it off while Maria enters the store to get the paper, but puts it back on when Mr. Hooper is around. Maria and Mr. Hooper go back and forth, and David keeps putting the hat on and taking it off.

SCENE 2 David decides to fess up to Mr. Hooper that he doesn’t like the hat. As it turns out, Mr. Hooper just got him a more fashionable one, and he takes back the old one. Now they both look stylish.

Muppets Western: Four Anything Muppet cowboys put up a Wanted poster for "the Great Cookie Thief", who's been stealing cookies from all the bakeries in these here parts. Cookie Monster is standing in front of the poster, and the others suspect that he's the Great Cookie Thief -- he has the same googly eyes, the same blue fur, and the same Western hat. They confront Cookie Monster, but he denies the charge: "Not have same mustache!" He shouts, "Look over there!" -- and while they're distracted, he draws a mustache on the poster. They apologize -- but then Cookie Monster takes off his hat, and cookies fall out. The Great Cookie Thief makes his escape.

SCENE 3 Big Bird looks around and sees Maria giving a shoebox to Oscar. He assumes it’s a present, and that he’ll be the next recipient, but he isn’t. He then sees David and Mr. Hooper giving Oscar some bags, and assumes that the rest of the bags are for him, but they’re Mrs. Arroyo’s groceries. Big Bird is so upset that Oscar is getting presents and he isn’t, so he decides to do something about it …

SCENE 5 On a vaudeville stage, Big Bird tells David that he's the fastest bird in the world. He demonstrates by "running" around the block twice (standing still to give the impression that he's faster than sight can perceive).
Muppets Sesame Street News Flash: The Tortoise and the Hare: When the race begins, the hare dawdles, since the tortoise is so slow he'll have time to win. Kermit rushes to the finish line so that he can see the results... and is crowned the winner.

Muppets Herbert Birdsfoot invents a complicated machine, to test Cookie Monster's problem-solving abilities. Cookie Monster needs to pull the string to raise the glass cover off the plateful of cookies at the other end -- but when he lets go to retrieve the cookies, the cover will fall again. Herbert hears Cookie Monster approaching, and hides to observe him. Cookie investigates the machine for a moment, then gets the cookies by karate-chopping the glass cover.

SCENE 6 Back at the vaudeville stage, Maria poses as the country's finest lumberjack. She tell David that she used to work in the Sesame Street Forest, to which David responds that there is no forest on Sesame Street. "Sure, now!" she replies.
