Picture Segment Description

SCENE 1 At the Fix-it Shop, Luis is swamped with things to fix: Gordon and Susan bring in their broken TV, David drops off a radio, and Big Bird leaves his toaster with him (along with the three week-old bread stuck inside). He decides to take a break, and imagines that he is relaxing on a desert island all by himself. Just as he revels in the solitude, Susan, Gordon, David, and Big Bird peer around a lone palm tree and demand their stuff be repaired.
SCENE 1 cont'd Back in reality, Luis has dozed off. Gordon returns and wakes him up, and Luis thinks that his imagination needs some fixing as well.

SCENE 2 At Hooper's Store, David boasts to Luis that his school football team just recruited a really "gigundo dude." Big Bird doubts this "big guy" is as big as Mr. Snuffleupagus, which the others laugh about. Luis manages to stump Big Bird when he asks how much Snuffy weighs, so David loans him a scale to see if he can prove his word.

SCENE 3 Big Bird weighs a bag of birdseed on the scale at his nest, theorizing it's much lighter than Snuffy. Mr. Snuffleupagus arrives, curious as to how much he weighs himself. Since he's too big to get on it, Big Bird believes he can determine the weight by subtracting his own after weighing the two of them together. When that and sitting on the scale don't work, Snuffy tries jumping onto the scale with all four feet; he ends up flattening it.

SCENE 4 A sheepish Big Bird returns the now-flattened scale back to David, who is no longer amused. He yells at Big Bird, and accuses him of having a truck run over it. The two get into a heated argument, with Big Bird storming out and David still refusing to believe that a Snuffleupagus had destroyed the scale... but Luis questions how it could've happened.
