SCENE 4 | At the Fix-it Shop, Luis eats a hamburger while listening to soft piano music on the radio. Big Bird comes in with a postcard from his friend Poco Loco, a parrot who lives in South America. The postcard is in Spanish, so he asks Luis to translate it for him. Reading it gives Luis fond memories of where he grew up, and almost like magic his surroundings change as he talks about his old home. Latin music starts playing on his radio, his hamburger becomes a taco, and his jacket becomes a bright tropical shirt. Luis would like to go back there and see his friends, but he is then reminded of all the friends he has on Sesame Street when Bob gives him an apple, Gordon reminds him of basketball practice, and Maria loans him some books. |
