SCENE 1 | Oscar meets the new sanitation man (played onscreen by Jerry Nelson), who hauls away the trash near his can. The worker almost picks up Oscar's trash can itself, but Oscar protests, saying it's his home – the regular sanitation man knows that. This man is new on the job, however, and it's his orders to empty every can. Oscar attempts to offer him some of his most valuable trash as a gift (to bring home to "the little woman") since it's his first day, including his 1937 Oldsmobile minus the wheels and a piano crushed by a safe. After looking inside Oscar's can and seeing all the things too big for his truck, the stunned sanitation man leaves. An insulted Oscar calls the sanitation department, complaining how the new guy doesn't even like trash. | |

David chides Big Bird for wasting his time, but Big Bird gets an idea. He does the same thing again, but when David picks up the phone, Big Bird tells him to hang on because someone will be on the line soon.
