SCENE 1 | Linda and her friends from the Little Theatre of the Deaf — Timi, Freda, Ed, and Joe — chat with Gordon on the stoop of 123 Sesame Street. A fire engine drives by clanging its bell and blaring its siren, and Mr. Hooper tries to explain what just passed. Linda is already aware that was a fire engine, and Timi interprets her explanation that the vehicle's flashing lights help alert deaf people. Everybody impersonates parts of a fire engine, with Ed as the steering wheel, Linda as the hose, Freda as the ladder, and Timi as the light. The kids and the others make up everyone else involved (including Susan as the dalmatian) and all make their way to fight a pretend fire. Mauricio pretends to be the fire as they work together to save Troy from the burning building. | |
