  • Big Bird is going on vacation, but he carries an empty suitcase -- because on his vacation, he needs nothing but a good rest.

  • The Miss Muffet Play: Little Miss Muffet rehearses for a play about her nursery rhyme. At the "Along came a spider" clue, Muffet's co-star enters wearing a number of different animal costumes, including a rabbit and a duck. Miss Muffet becomes increasingly annoyed -- and when he shows up as a fish, she grabs the parts of his fish costume off of him, and puts his spider outfit on. Naturally, once she sees the spider costume on him, Miss Muffet is frightened, and a crazy chase ensues. (First: Episode 0280)
  • Nelly counts from 1 to 10, then back.
  • Maria and David are about to start a ping-pong game, but David doesn't have a paddle. After holding several different types of sports equipment in its place, he finally gets the correct one. Once the problem is solved, Maria and David realize they don't have a ping-pong ball. Dozens of balls then fall on them. (This is a reference to Captain Kangaroo.)
  • Big Bird re-groups his lunch of soup, ice cream peas and jellybeans. He takes so long that it gets cold before he can eat it.
  • Maria and David look for each other in the park, but have trouble finding one another. The concepts of above and below are demonstrated.
