SCENE 1 Bob finds a young Muppet girl named Jane, who thinks her name is boring. Bob assembles some friends to show her how many interesting rhymes her name has:

SCENE 1 cont'd Ernie tells Bert to say "The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain." Moments later, a rainstorm begins and Ernie escapes with the only umbrella.
SCENE 1 cont'd David serves Big Bird a plate of chow mein, which birds don't usually eat, but Big Bird has only ordered it for its rhyming purpose.
SCENE 1 cont'd After hearing all these rhymes, Jane feels much better. She tells Bob, "You're a brain!" and rewards him with a kiss.
Beat The Time
Muppets Guy Smiley hosts "Beat the Time". In order to win a cookie, Cookie Monster has to bring in three things that rhyme with the word "rain" before the hand goes around the clock. They turn out to be an old man's "cane", a "chain" (to which Frazzle is attached), and finally a "train" which destroys the set.

Grover will get on top of a platform, and Mumford will pull the pillar off from underneath, and the platform will not fall. The trick works, so Grover decides to try it himself, with Herry Monster as his assistant. Grover can't pull it off, and Herry falls.

When he plugs it back in, a big letter I appears on the screen. Ernie wants to try fixing the TV again, but Bert tells him not to -- this is a great show.

SCENE 3 Big Bird finds David falling asleep in Hooper's Store. David hasn't gotten much sleep due to law school (and having joined the track team). He asks Big Bird to help keep him awake, which Big Bird does by poking him whenever he dozes off. Big Bird tries to think of a better way of accomplishing this.

SCENE 6 Big Bird's latest scheme ask David to rest his hand on a switch. When he falls asleep, his hand flips it and a bunch of noisy appliances go off. All the work he's done starts to make Big Bird tired as well and the two fall asleep together. David's hand flips the switch, but they're both too tired to be bothered by the noise. Mr. Hooper comes down the street to check on David, knowing he's been working out with the track team. Maria is certain that David is doing fine, especially hearing all the noise coming from the store. They're shocked to see David and Big Bird fast asleep in the commotion.
