SCENE 1 Big Bird announces himself to Susan and David in front of Hooper's Store to much fanfare. He introduces a pencil as a modern marvel and offers to draw a picture of Susan. David is skeptical and Susan suggests starting with something easier, like the alphabet. They're surprised and pleased to see that the drawing is actually quite good, and Susan asks if she can have it to show Gordon. Big Bird addresses the camera, "stay tuned to this station for the further adventures of your friend and mine the... [musical fanfare]... pencil!"
