SCENE 1 David tells Cookie Monster that he's not getting any free cookies today, but Cookie Monster says he's collecting money for endangered species. Buffy notes how there are only a few wolves left in the world and Maria mentions killer whales. Cookie Monster adds the whooping crane and polar bears, not to the mention yellow-bellied tomato worm ("I told you not to mention it!"). Maria says they're very proud of him, and they all chip in some change. Cookie Monster subsequently asks David for twenty cents worth of cookies, citing himself as the last living member of his species.
