SCENE 1 | Big Bird explains that he is watching Hooper's Store as Mr. Hooper visits the library to get some books to help him study for his GED. A plate of cookies have been left out to celebrate his return to school, and each customer is allowed to take one free cookie. Naturally, Cookie Monster is the first customer and gobbles his cookie down. He's hungry for more, but Big Bird refuses to give him another, wanting there to be plenty for everyone. Cookie understands that the next person will also get one cookie, and gets an idea.

SCENE 2 | Cookie Monster returns dressed as Bert, wearing a tuft of black hair, a shoddily-made sweater pinned together, and saddle Oxford shoes. After practicing his Bert voice (which he perfectly emulates, though he keeps his monster dialect) he is able to fool Big Bird into giving him another cookie. Moments later he returns dressed as Susan, wearing a nurse's hat and holding a medical bag. When the real Susan enters, Cookie makes a run for it (accidentally speaking like Bert for a second) and Susan asks what's been going on. Big Bird tells Susan to take her one cookie and don't ask.

Unfortunately for Oscar, Grover feels better for getting his anger off his chest and returns to his pleasant demeanor immediately afterward.

- In the original script, Cookie Monster was to imitate Luis during scene 2 instead of Susan.
