Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 Gordon finds Big Bird in deep concentration, muttering to himself. Big Bird reminds Gordon that Maria's cousin Ada is coming to visit all the way from Puerto Rico, so he's making sure he can remember the Spanish phrase he's learned. Gordon wants to learn some Spanish too and asks Big Bird to teach him the message. The message, when translated to English, is "Welcome to Sesame Street. My name is Big Bird." Gordon tries this out on Maria and Luis, eliciting laughter from the pair.
