Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 David cleans up Hooper's Store in preparation for a visit from his grandmother, whom he hasn't seen in a long, long time. He chides Maria and Big Bird when they come close to touching anything in the store as he prepares for her arrival. Big Bird sees how busy David is and offers to meet his grandmother at the bus stop, but first needs to know what she looks like. David tells him that she's a beautiful, older woman with gray hair, a suitcase, and looking for her grandson.

SCENE 1 cont'd Big Bird positions himself at the bus stop, just in time for a bus to arrive. He stops an elderly Anything Muppet, who fits the description (down to having a grandson named David), but Big Bird realizes that the person is male, thus not a grandmother. He then stops an Anything Muppet woman, buts finds she's much too young looking. An elderly human woman departs the bus, and Big Bird points her toward Hooper's, not realizing who she is. Maria gets David's attention, and he shares a reunion with his grandma. Big Bird inspects her for a moment and remarks to David, "You didn't mention that she was wearing a hat!"

SCENE 2 David, Maria, Grandma, and Noel look at some of the old photos Grandma brought with her, including one of David and his brother Gregory at Sunday School. When looking at a picture from his 6th grade graduation, she realizes that she still remembered him as a young boy when she was picking out some presents for him. The gifts turn out to be a child-sized sweater and small baseball mitt, neither of which will fit David in his young adult state.

SCENE 2 cont'd Just then, Bob comes down from the garage, having dug out a rocking chair. David admits he wanted this to be a gift for Grandma, remembering her being much older than she actually is. She doesn't feel the need for it, so Bob makes use of it to rest after digging through all the junk to find it. As for David's gifts, they find the sweater is just the right size for Noel, while Grandma makes use of the mitt and baseball herself for a game with Noel.

SCENE 4 Maria and Grandma stroll down the block, when they notice a sign now hanging on the door of Big Bird's nest - "Big Bird's Baby-Sitting Service." Inside, Big Bird tells them he's starting up a new business to earn some extra cash. The grown-ups ask him how he would put a baby to sleep; Big Bird's method would be loudly tricking the baby into thinking it's nighttime. His other care-taking ideas include tickling or telling a joke to the baby to get them to stop crying and feeding them birdseed when they're hungry. Maria breaks it to him that he's not old or responsible enough to be in charge of taking care of an infant. Big Bird declares he will be a lawyer instead.
