Cookie Monster admits it, saying that he is full now and gives Ernie the last cookie, but Sherlock ends up taking it as payment.

SCENE 3 Maria invites Herry Monster to take the bus downtown with her. Herry misinterprets this and starts carrying the bus downtown when it pulls up.
Muppets Ernie & BertErnie eats the ice cream that Bert was saving for later, so he tries to pass off a smashed up banana with ice and gravy as a substitute. Bert expresses his disgust just as Oscar the Grouch comes in with two ice cream cones. He intends to give only one of them away, but swaps the other in exchange for the smashed banana with cold gravy.

Ernie is impressed by Cookie Monster’s device and talks about the benefits the device provides to the audience, simultaneously Cookie Monster eats Ernie’s box of cookies. Ernie tests the Cookie Counter by pointing the rod at the box of cookies, the box doesn’t ring. Cookie Monster asks Ernie to face the Cookie Counter rod to his stomach; it rings five times as proof of the location of the five cookies.

SCENE 5 Sherlock Hemlock stops by Oscar's trash can, as he is in need of a Grouch for an assignment. Oscar offers to help, but Sherlock turns him down, as Oscar's willingness to be helpful goes against his dictionary's definition of a Grouch. Due to Oscar's color and fondness for hopping in mud, Sherlock instead deduces that Oscar is a frog.
Muppets Ernie & Bert — Ernie and Bert have pizza and grape juice. Bert complains that Ernie has more of each, so Ernie tries to make it even by eating some of his pizza and drinking some of his grape juice, but then Bert has more. And so on.
