SCENE 1 | David stops by the Fix-it Shop and hears Luis and Maria having a conversation in Spanish about Puerto Rico. David really wants to learn how to speak Spanish, and asks that the two of them only speak Spanish when he's around so he can get immersed in the language. Luis gives David his first lesson by holding up a naranja (orange), but Maria calls it a china since they both come from different Spanish-speaking regions. David thinks it's a better idea to move onto a different object, so Maria picks up a frisa (blanket) - which Luis calls a cobija. "This is not gonna be as easy as I thought," David tells the viewer. | |
