Tula and Groove view old photographs, coming across one of Groove in a hooblebobber. He begins to reminisce and asks, "What floats around on the water like a hooblebobber?"
Hubba Hubba shares some clips of animals floating on water, but they aren't anything like hooblebobbers. So, Tula visits the Tiddlypeeps and they give her a foam swimming float, but it's still not what the Hoobs are looking for.
Roma reports from a beach and teaches them about surfing and surfboards. Groove is still sad that they haven’t found anything soft and squidgy he can get into like a hooblebobber, so Hubba Hubba shares the story of a lonely caterpillar named Bertie who longs to join his friends across the river. After spotting a frog hopping on lily pads, Bertie bravely uses one to float across, finally reuniting with his friends and finding happiness in a big cabbage patch.
The Hoobs wonder if a lily pad would work for them. They test their question using a large heeble leaf, but they find that it doesn't support the weight of a Hoob. They then sing a song about hooblebobbing.
Hubba Hubba sends them an inflatable pool toy, but the Hoobs can't get into it. Tula visits the Tiddlypeeds again to ask for help and is introduced to an inflatable boat. She asks Hubba Hubba to order them one, and they recap the episode's events during Hoob News.
