Tula wants to make a toy but isn't sure what kind, while Groove finds a squeaky dog toy he names Squeaky. However, a dog starts barking outside, leading Iver to ask, "What can we do to stop the dog outside the Hoobmobile going 'woof woof'?"
Hubba Hubba shares some videos about why dogs bark, leading Iver to think the barking dog outside might be hungry. After a hooby cookie doesn't help, Iver takes the dog to the Tiddlypeeps, but by then, it has stopped barking. They suggest it may have wanted a walk and teach him about other dog sounds. Back at the Hoobmobile, Groove imitates a dog, and the Hoobs sing "Woof Woof."
As they prepare to do Hoob News, thinking they've answered the question, the dog starts barking again. Roma reports in from a countryside field. She tells them about dogs whose jobs involve chasing things, such as police dogs and sheepdogs. Iver agrees to pretend to be a sheep and let the dog chase him, but this doesn't work either.
Hubba Hubba shares the story of Duna the dog who wanted to bury her bone but was scolded everywhere she tried (including her owner's garden), until she accidentally uncovered treasure for some pirates and was finally praised. After that, she never dug up the garden again. The Hoobs order a bone from Hoobnet, thinking it might do the trick, but alas, it does not.
Groove and Squeaky visit the Tiddlypeeps, who explain that Squeaky is a dog toy and the dog likely wants it back. Back at the Hoobmobile, the dog has stopped barking, but Groove misses Squeaky. Tula unveils the toy dog she's been working on and gives it to Groove, and the Hoobs wrap up with Hoob News.
