On "Make a New Sound Day," Farkas Faffner gets a robot which he's instructed to get rid of all the musicians. While Mimi tries to get an idea, Patrick Moraz appears to demonstrate sounds on his keyboards to Mimi. That gives Mimi an idea of using bits from the evil robot to build a synthesizer which will make new sounds. Pretending to help Farkas fix his robot, Mimi and Riff took half of the insides of the robot. While they construct their synthesizer, The Wild Impresario shows the baffled Fughetta Faffner a tape starring Thomas Dolby. Dolby demonstrates how you can make sound with a synthesizer with help from a fly in a matchbox. When their synthesizer is finished, they play it. The robot mysteriously rises from its deathbed. They all think it's going to destroy them, but instead it starts to play music. They sign it up for their “Make A New Sound” concert, and once again, Farkas is foiled.
