Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 Big Bird and the kids practice writing their full names, as they intend to get library cards and need to sign their names on them. Big Bird also makes sure David can sign his own name, since he needs a responsible adult to help him apply for a card.
SCENE 2 Big Bird excitedly finds his library card has been sent to him in today's mail.
SCENE 3 Big Bird is overwhelmed at the amount of interesting books the library has to offer. He carries just one book with him to the check-out desk and points to the several others he wants to check out all stacked on the surrounding tables.
SCENE 4 Big Bird bumps into his friends and various street fixtures while keeping his nose in a fascinating book. Ironically, the book is titled "How to Avoid Accidents."
SCENE 5 Big Bird, with a book of "Jack and the Beanstalk," sits down near David, who is reading a romance novel entitled "Made for Each Other." Big Bird's loud, then muffled reading distracts David as he tries to read. Big Bird loses interest in his own book and starts reading David's over his shoulder. David has had his fill of Big Bird's antics and suggests Big Bird stick to his own book, citing what a great story it is. Big Bird senses David likes the story more than he does, so he switches the books they're reading.
SCENE 6 The librarian prepares to close up the library, relieved after a long day...until Big Bird returns with the many books he checked out that need to be reprocessed.
