SCENE 1 | Maria and Luis are intrigued by a sign hanging on the door to Big Bird's nest reading "Welcome Woodrow." Big Bird explains that he's partaking in a bird exchange program, where birds from the country come to the city to see what it's like living there, and vice versa. He's expecting a bird named Woodrow who will be coming to Sesame Street soon, though he's not sure what kind of bird he is yet.
SCENE 1 | Moments later, Woodrow Woodpecker from the forest arrives for his visit, perched on a nearby tree. He's warmly welcomed by Big Bird but is confused by his mentions of city things he's not familiar with like movies, buses, and pizza. He instead wants to fetch dinner from an old tree and find a hole in a log to sleep in. He demonstrates how he gets his food by digging for a beetle with his beak, and encourages Big Bird to scavenge as well. Big Bird tries pecking at the tree, but only ends up injuring his beak.

He relates how his visit to Bob's place was also affected as Woodrow put a hole through his front door when trying to knock on it. Woodrow overhears all this and apologizes for how difficult he made things for him, saying it was just as hard for him to adjust living in the city. Big Bird feigns sadness when Woodrow mentions going back home, but it turns out he's just got a new job in the city: drilling holes into wood for Luis at the Fix-It Shop.
