SCENE 1 | Big Bird is eager to introduce the viewer to today's letter - H (going so far as to cut the opening music short to ensure he's heard clearly). As he thinks of words that begin with H, Mr. Hooper adamantly points to himself. Big Bird instead recognizes that Mr. Hooper's hat, hair (what little there is), head, and hand all start with H. Finally, Mr. Hooper explodes, "What about me?!" Big Bird replies that "Plooper" doesn't begin with H. | |

When they let him in, the boss reprimands him for his poor memory, and warns him that he'll be in big trouble if he forgets again. To test his memory, the boss and Benny lock themselves out, telling him not to let them in until they give the secret knock. Despite the boss' warning, Lefty forgets once again, and finally having enough, he fearfully runs out the back door, leaving the other two stranded outside yelling, "Let us in!" as they angrily pound on the door trying to get in.
