	SCENE 1	The adults and the kids discuss some transportation, as Big Bird tries to guess what they're talking about. He thinks they're discussing a noisy, underground worm, but it's actually the subway. He asks if he can join them on the train, as he needs to visit his friend Petula Pigeon downtown. They all head out, with Big Bird commenting that he hopes they avoid that large, noisy worm.

	SCENE 2	Susan and the kids rush to catch the train. She explains how the tokens and turnstile work. Luis stops to buy a token before the impending train arrives. Because of the noise, the elderly Muppet change attendant (Richard Hunt) misunderstands Luis' requests and thinks he's instead talking about the weather. Luis ends up missing the train and the attendant finally understands what Luis was asking for.

	SCENE 4	Bob tells the kids that he likes to ride up front in the car so he can see out the window. He points out different sights to see, such as the rails and turns, before they finally reach their stop.

Ernie talks about eyes, Cookie Monster talks about the mouth, Bert and Grover talk about ears, and Herry Monster talks about the nose. At the end of the pageant, they assemble a picture of a face. 	SCENE 5	Everyone returns to Sesame Street from their various rides. They wonder where Big Bird could be, when Gordon explains he took a different route to the surface instead of the stairs. Big Bird then pops his head out of Oscar's trash can, having taken a tunnel from the subway station. Oscar is heard complaining about the yellow feathers in his swimming pool. Bob announces the sponsors.
	CLOSING SIGNS	The Count holds the Sesame Street sign, while Ernie and Bert hold the CTW sign.

Notes

• The subway sets would later be seen in Christmas Eve on Sesame Street.

• Caroll Spinney and Richard Hunt make onscreen cameos as subway passengers.

• Some of the subway film footage used for scene 4 was originally recorded for the opening of Episode 0946, as well as part of the closing credit sequence for seasons 10 and 11.
