SCENE 2 | Olivia finds Big Bird attempting to sneak out of Hooper's Store, wearing sunglasses in an effort to hide his identity. He admits he's running away from home since moments earlier, David had to step out and told him to make his own birdseed sandwich and glass of milk. However, he accidentally spilled the birdseed and milk and broke the glass, just when the store had been completely cleaned earlier today. Olivia recommends Big Bird tell the truth and helps clean up the mess. When David returns and sees the cleared counter he assumes Big Bird hasn't started yet and begins to prepare the meal for him. Big Bird tries to explain what happened when David spills the birdseed and milk like Big Bird did before. Big Bird consoles David and tells him everyone makes mistakes, then recommends not running away from home. | |
