SCENE 2 | At his store, Mr. Hooper nurses a sore tooth as he makes out a list of things for David to do while he goes to the dentist. Moments after, David calls in sick and can't make it, so Mr. Hooper wonders who will be able to take care of his store in David's absence. Since Linda is the only one around, she volunteers to watch the store for him. Mr. Hooper gives her his apron and a quick tour behind the store counter before heading to the dentist, pinning the list he made for David on the shelf. Linda spots the list and decides to do the extra work as well. | |
SCENE 2 cont'd | Big Bird comes by and orders some birdseed, but isn't quite sure what Linda is trying to tell him. Instead, she takes out two bags and Big Bird deduces that she was asking about the size of the order. After he leaves Susan comes in for a lettuce and tomato sandwich; Linda shows her how to make the signs. A girl is easily able to get an apple from her as well. | |

- The episode was initially scripted to feature the song "The Things I Love," as well as an alternate closing scene where Oscar and his singing group (the Aristocrats) perform their own version of the "Sesame Street Theme."[1]
