SCENE 1 Big Bird observes how there may be more than one John in the world, but he's never met someone else named Big Bird. He spins a story for the kids about he got to be named Big Bird...
SCENE 1 cont'd The scene shifts to a quaint little cottage, where Big Bird's great-great-great-great-great-grandfather resides with another bird. The two don't have names, so they constantly call, "Hey, you" to get the other's attention. They try thinking of names that could differentiate the two using their physical attributes, but Big Bird's grandfather finds they are just too similar. That is, until he realizes they're different sizes. He proposes rather long names based on their sizes, then is convinced shorter names would suffice, such as Arnold or Florence.
Back on the street, the kids see that Big Bird is joking and know the two became "Big Bird" and "Little Bird."

SCENE 2 Oscar ropes Gordon and Susan into his demonstration of on top as he makes a sandwich. The two are certain it's going to be some repulsive, Grouchy concoction. Oscar feigns innocence as he prepares fresh bread, butter and lettuce and places them on top of each other. Then comes the final ingredient - a large fish.
Muppets The town doctor ("Doc") comes to a saloon to meet Mean Manny and his gang, even though Manny is the toughest guy in town and plans to have a "shootin' party." Manny and his posse arrive on time and meet with Doc and his medicine...he gives them all measles shots.

The mailman (Jim Henson) arrives, with a bunch of letters for Count. The mailman wonders why there are so many letters. The Count says that he wrote them all himself, so he could count them... and then he does.

SCENE 5 David stops by the nest and sees Big Bird's new curtains. He tells Big Bird that his decoration of choice is beaded curtains for his doorway. Big Bird still isn't sure about this, but goes along with it anyhow.

SCENE 6 Gordon comes by with a rolled up poster under is arm to help Big Bird spruce up the place and is shocked by all the new decor. Big Bird confesses that he doesn't really like the new look at all. Gordon explains that since it's Big Bird's nest, he should make it look how he wants it, not how other people may. Gordon happens to have the remedy - a poster of seagulls he found at the card store. He and Big Bird proceed to remove all the new decor.
Muppets Ernie & BertErnie comes home to a sleeping Bert and tries to think of things to do that won't wake him up. He can't watch TV, and he can't play with his ball. Bored, he decides to take a nap too -- but then he starts to snore. This awakens Bert, who wonders out loud where the noise is coming from, in the process arousing Ernie, who gets mad at being woken up.
