SCENE 2 Mr. Razzle's idea for bringing in customers is underway. A colorful banner reading "Welcome to the Fabulous Fix-It Fair" is hung on the front table, band music blares from a phonograph, the kids toss confetti, Luis dons a ridiculous suit and Mr. Dazzle shouts about like a carnival barker. After receiving complaints about the noise and confetti from Bob, Susan and Gordon, Luis choses to call off the whole event. He does end up with one new customer - Mr. Razzle, whose phonograph has now broken down.
Muppets Ernie & BertErnie tries to figure out what time it is at night. It's too dark to see the clock, so Ernie has a new solution: he pokes his head out the window and sings some loud, off-key opera ("O SOLE MIO, O SOLE YOU-OH") which causes everyone to wake up and yell at him to stop singing, and even mention what time it is. It's 3:00 AM.
