	SCENE 1	Maria shows the kids how intelligent Barkley is by calling out different letters of the alphabet; Barkley then points each one out on a large board near Oscar's trash can. Oscar isn't as impressed: "If he wasn't a dog, nobody'd care!" After the kids get a turn quizzing Barkley, Oscar asks the dog to point to all the letters (including many not listed). Barkley goes into a frenzy, knocking the board over and rolling all over it.

	Muppets	Benny and his boss have been waiting for Lefty for a long time. Benny wonders how they will know when it's Lefty at the door, so he reminds him that Lefty will knock three times - their secret knock to enter their hideout. Lefty forgets the number, and has to be hinted from his boss what the number of knocks are to gain access, finally giving the correct amount. When they let him in, the boss reprimands him for his poor memory, and warns him that he'll be in big trouble if he forgets again. To test his memory, the boss and Benny lock themselves out, telling him not to let them in until they give the secret knock. Despite the boss' warning, Lefty forgets once again, and finally having enough, he fearfully runs out the back door, leaving the other two stranded outside yelling, "Let us in!" as they angrily pound on the door trying to get in. 	SCENE 4	Olivia gives Barkley a nice, big bone to play with. He happily chews and pounces on it until the kids call him over to play in the yard. Maria finds the stray bone on the sidewalk and is disgusted by the litter. She gives it to Oscar, who believes it might be a piece missing from his dinosaur collection. Barkley returns to find his bone missing and traces the scent back to Oscar's can. Barkley begins to pester Oscar, who isn't sure why Barkley's bothering him and is unable to get the dog to leave him alone.

	SCENE 4 cont'd	Oscar is still unable to get Barkley to scram as the dog continues to whine and howl. Olivia returns and wonders where his bone is, and Maria realizes it must've been the one she gave to Oscar. Desperate to get rid of the mutt, he removes it from his dinosaur skeleton (which immediately collapses) and tosses it to Barkley. Oscar gets a moment of peace before Barkley returns, believing he initiated a game of fetch.

	SCENE 5	At night, Oscar can't sleep as Barkley has situated himself in front of his can for the night. Oscar tries to stir the dog by playing "Reveille" on his busted horn. Barkley remains sleeping, but the neighbors all start complaining about the noise. Oscar isn't fazed: "At least it isn't all bad - now nobody can sleep!" He continues playing as Maria announces the sponsors, and the credits roll.
