SCENE 1 Oscar the Grouch thinks that if he can get Barkley to bark loud enough, it'll annoy all the neighbors currently sleeping. Somebody tosses an old shoe to keep him quiet, which Oscar considers a reward, not something bad. He barks some more, attracting Maria, still in her bathrobe. She thinks Barkley is acting up because of the cold and invites him inside. Oscar is frustrated with how his plan backfired and heads back to bed.

SCENE 2 cont'd Bob still can't think of where he's seen the man before. He then spots Mr. Machado, the local mailman, doing his rounds on the street. Bob realizes Mr. Machado is the man he saw earlier; he's not used to seeing him out of his postal uniform. Mr. Machado comes by with the mail and briefly struggles to remember Bob's name, as he has similar memory troubles divorcing people from their homes.
Muppets Ernie & BertErnie comes up with a way for him to remember to put his basketball away before he goes to sleep: he remembers with his mind, which is in his head; his head is round, and so is the basketball. His plan works the first time, but not when Bert wants to go to sleep.
