SCENE 2 Olivia escorts her friend, Dr. Ramos, out of 123 Sesame Street after checking up on Gordon. They find Big Bird under the covers in his nest, feeling under the weather. Dr. Ramos inspects Big Bird and sees his tonsils are the source of the issue. She suggests they take Big Bird to the hospital and have the tonsils removed. Big Bird is unsure of the idea at first, but wishes to feel better and understands this is the best way to do so. He's even allowed to bring Radar with him.

Muppets Ernie & BertErnie and Bert have difficulty scratching their backs, so both help each other scratch their back. While Ernie's itch takes a little too long to scratch, he introduces a film called "Everybody Scratch." After the film, Ernie notices that Bert has stopped scratching his back; Beautiful Day Monster is.

SCENE 3 Olivia, David, Linda and Bob swing by the hospital to visit Big Bird. He enjoys his stay already, citing all the things to do and how he's made new friends with fellow kids at the hospital. He speaks in a whisper, not to preserve his throat, but to be quiet for the sake of sleeping patients. The gang presents him with some gifts and he loudly reacts to them.

Muppets / Cast Luis has four things lined up in a row - a harmonica, a whistle, a trumpet, and a banana. He tells Kermit that one of these doesn't belong, and Kermit chooses the banana because you can make music with the instruments, but you eat the banana... or so he thinks. Luis blows into the banana and appears to be playing a horn until he reveals he was honking a horn behind his back the whole time. Amused by the trick, they decide to play the same joke on Cookie Monster, but Cookie has a different idea--you eat the harmonica, whistle, and trumpet, and make beautiful music with the banana.

SCENE 5 Big Bird rests following his operation. He stirs, glad to see his friends are there. Dr. Ramos presents him with a medal for being a great patient, as well as being the first bird she's known whose had his tonsils removed. She adds that Big Bird will be able to return home soon. Big Bird has had such a nice experience at the hospital, he asks Dr. Ramos to find something else wrong with him so he can stay a little longer.
