SCENE 1 Oscar can't stand everyone's cheerful attitudes today and wishes everyone could be as grouchy as him. He envisions the street is now "Grouch Street," covered with litter and everyone wares tattered clothing, argues constantly and has a yucky breakfast of lumpy oatmeal. Back in reality, David brings Oscar some breakfast, which happens to be the same meal he imagined. "I guess I have some imagination, don't I," remarks Oscar.
