SCENE 1 Oscar peers from his trash can at the usual business going about on Sesame Street: the kids cheerfully walk by before coloring on the sidewalk, David and Susan greet each other warmly, Bob finds a discarded brick and throws it away, and Linda returns from a run from the park before joining everybody in Hooper's Store for some breakfast. Oscar can't stand all the bright attitudes today and wishes everyone could be a Grouch like him, and begins to imagine what that would be like...
