The two mischievously do a rapid fire dance, think the Count wouldn't be able to count all their tiny tippy-taps. The Count surprises them by actually being able to count each step - 6,432, to be precise.

The book is about how the monster cannot decide on what to do because both heads want to do different things. Eventually they learn that together, they are able to lift weights, play doctor ("Kildare! Kildare!"), play the piano ("Tchaikovsky! Mozart!"), and eat a salami-and-cheese sandwich.
