SCENE 1 David has made a board to use outside Hooper's Store to advertise the specialty items each day. As he carries it to the store, the "E" in "HOOPER'S LUNCH" falls off, unbeknownst to David. Big Bird finds it and, not knowing the source of it, decides to play with the letter.

Big Bird points out the tracks are his own feet, then mentions finding the letter E on the sidewalk earlier. Sherlock dismisses the E a the one he's looking for - it doesn't have any feet.
Muppets Ernie & Bert β€” Ernie tries to figure out what time it is at night. It's too dark to see the clock, so Ernie has a new solution: he pokes his head out the window and sings some loud, off-key opera ("O SOLE MIO, O SOLE YOU-OH") which causes everyone to wake up and yell at him to stop singing, and even mention what time it is. It's 3:00 AM.
