SCENE 1 | Maria walks in on Big Bird as he prepares dinner for Mr. Snuffleupagus, who will be spending the night. After telling her where Snuffy will sleep and when he's coming, he recommends Maria stop by to visit, but she informs him that she has other things to do. Upon seeing Big Bird looking devastated, she offers to come by later. Big Bird cheers up, claiming Snuffy believes she is the one who is imaginary and notes that this status will change after tonight. |

SCENE 2 | Snuffy arrives with his toothbrush, ready for a night sleeping under the stars. Suddenly, a boom of thunder indicates rain is coming. Big Bird recommends what he usually does whenever it rains while he's asleep: put his head under his wings, but Snuffy reminds him that he doesn't have feathers. Snuffy doesn't want his fur to get soggy, so Big Bird thinks of somewhere else he can sleep. They try going to Gordon and Susan's apartment, but Snuffy can't fit through the front doors of 123 Sesame Street. Big Bird then proposes Oscar's trash can, which is also much too small. An idea finally dawns on the bird, who leads Snuffy to the garage, which has enough space of a Snuffleupagus as well as a quilt that he can use for a bed and a set of folding screens to give him more privacy. Big Bird goes back to his nest to finish cooking dinner while Snuffy stays to get settled in. |

Sully begins to play a Gershwin tune on the piano as Snuffy, still unseen, dances along. After Sully leaves, Snuffy comments on how well he can tickle the ivories. |
