The Sesame Street gang all peels out of the teepee to make their way to Samson's house, including Bob and Mr. Hooper lugging Oscar's trash can to the truck. Big Bird is the last to leave as he's planning to take a wagon of cabbages for Mr. Snuffleupagus' lunch. Sheldon drives the group away as they sing the "Sesame Street Theme," changing the titular place to "Samson's beach."

SCENE 2 Oscar demands to see all the hot lava that he heard so much about back on Sesame Street. Oscar becomes distressed, saying, "What a shame, to think that this used to be a Grouch paradise!"

SCENE 4 Buffy and some of the kids discuss their nationalities, showing how people in Hawaii can come from many places. Oscar refers to himself as "a bonafide, good ol' green Grouch," and asks what the kids do. They tell him they like to play, go to school, and go shopping. Oscar is disappointed to hear that they also like to have hukilaus (fishing parties) and don't have a lot of traffic or water pollution. All these good things make Oscar miserable, which he enjoys.
