Grover ends up giving Mr. Johnson both the soup and sandwich, so he can decide what to eat first. Mr. Johnson tells Grover that he has decided to get a cup of coffee, then the soup and the sandwich.

Big Bird's loud, then muffled reading distracts David as he tries to read. Big Bird loses interest in his own book and starts reading David's over his shoulder. David has had his fill of Big Bird's antics and suggests Big Bird stick to his own book, citing what a great story it is. Big Bird senses David likes the story more than he does, so he switches the books they're reading.
