SCENE 1 Oscar returns from giving a free ride to Barkley in his Sloppy Jalopy. He calls the Crummy Cab Company dispatcher and learns he needs to pick up a Grouch located at the city dump. However, Barkley won't leave the back seat of the taxi. Oscar yells at the dog to get him to move, but David informs him that a quieter, gentler tone will get Barkley's attention. Barkley moseys over to David and Oscar takes off, leaving the two in a cloud of exhaust.

Barkley wants to continue his journey, though David doesn't think it's a good idea for him to go into the garage; Big Bird recommends that Barkley waits until the bug has finished having lunch.
