SCENE 4 Everyone puts the finishing touches on the doghouse. They realize they can't get outside - it won't fit through the Fix-It Shop door! Maria thinks it can fit in the skylight and they can then lower it to the ground from the roof. As they carry it off, Big Bird suggests next time, they build the doghouse outside.

SCENE 4 cont'd The doghouse is lowered onto the sidewalk. The gang carries it over to the arbor, where Big Bird has prepared a mailbox for Barkley, stuffing it with leftover mail of his own (since dogs don't get their own mail). They set his favorite old slipper inside to help attract him. Barkley returns from the park and inspects his new dwelling. He retrieves his slipper and settles on a spot on the stoop instead. The adults suspect Barkley prefers sleeping outdoors, but his doghouse turns out to be a fun playhouse for Big Bird and the kids.
